Changing the shape of Capability Group
In this edition you will find:
Integrating
the ‘hard’ skills of operational efficiency with the ‘soft’ skills of change
management and people development
Always on the lookout for opportunities to develop ourselves
and to provide even more comprehensive solutions for our
clients, we started exploring a synergistic amalgamation with
LSI Consulting Ltd. early this year. As a result, on 1 October
2009 we became part of the Cura Group, comprising Capability
Group Ltd., LSI Consulting Ltd. and Interchange Ltd. One of the
key rationales for this move was the ability to integrate our
change management, organisation development and leadership
development expertise with the business process improvement
expertise of LSI.
In exploring the potential of linking our two companies, we
discovered similar philosophies, particularly in collaborating
and working in partnership with our clients to help them achieve
their desired outcomes. We identified that we worked in a number
of similar industry sectors, namely local government, tertiary
institutes and retail while we could add value to the other
client sectors of each company. In addition, both Capability
Group and LSI Consulting Ltd have been providing services to our
respective clients for 20+ years providing stability and
extensive experience.
|
Key positives that attracted us to LSI are that they:
- are a specialist performance improvement consultancy
- work with people to identify and quantify improvement opportunities
- engage with stakeholders for delivery of sustainable improvements
- provide a structured approach in enrolling staff in the change process
- are results oriented and practical while working towards overall strategy achievement
- enjoy working with people to deliver measurable results.
The synergies have already been proved when we worked in
partnership to assist one of our clients improve their
processes. This was part of a Change Plan designed to develop a
collaborative and efficient culture in alignment with their
Strategic Plan. Capability Group commenced the development
through workshops on managing change, problem solving and
continuous improvement prior to LSI consultants working
alongside the people involved in the processes themselves. As
the new processes came on stream, further people development
occurred relating to collaboration along with leadership
development. |

Signing the agreement:
Back Row: Murray Prior, Frances Tweedy
Front Row: Cheryl Wright, Guy Chadwick
|
With our complementary strengths, we are now looking forward
to be able to add considerable value to our current and future
clients.

A truly global conference
Paris was a wonderful location for
Persona Global’s conference this year and perhaps it was the
location that encouraged so many people to attend even in
recessionary times. However, the big draw card was the
opportunity for world-class professionals in organisation
development to come together to share expertise and also, for
some, the opportunity to become accredited in a number of
different diagnostic tools.
The countries represented at this conference ranged from the
United States in the west through many European and Scandinavian
countries, through the Middle East, India to Indonesia and Korea
in the east.

Frances Tweedy with Eduardo Esteves
(United States and South America) and
Jean-Benoit Parat (France)
Prior to the Conference starting, Frances Tweedy conducted an
accreditation workshop relating to our Emotional Capability
Profile for people attending from Russia, Saudi Arabia, United
Arab Emirates, Turkey, India and Spain. From the enthusiasm
displayed, it is likely that this Profile will be translated
into even more languages (the ECP is currently provided in
Mandarin, German, Italian, French and Spanish). For more
information about the Emotional Capability Profile,
